A large winter storm is expected to hit central Washington on Tuesday night, bringing extensive snow and hazardous conditions.
The National Weather Service in Spokane warns of moderate to major consequences in the region, with snowfall forecast to range from 6 to 10 inches in central valleys and up to 15 inches in mountain passes such as Stevens, Sherman, and Blewett.
The storm will form as a low-pressure system near the Washington coast, pulling in moisture and developing overnight.
Slick roads are expected Tuesday morning due to dropping snow levels, with more snow arriving later in the evening. Snow will fall in Eastern Washington and North Idaho as well, but the effects will be less severe.
Drivers should brace for poor traffic conditions till Wednesday morning. Stay tuned for changing forecasts.
