One Dead, Five Injured in Two-car Crash on U.S. Highway 101 in Geyserville

A two-car crash on U.S. Highway 101 south of Canyon Road in Geyserville at noon Saturday killed one person and injured five others, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A Honda Accord was traveling southbound on U.S. 101 “at an unsafe speed in rainy conditions” when the driver lost control, jumped the grassy median, and collided with a northbound Subaru Outback, according to the CHP on social media.

Four males, aged 19 and 20, were in the Honda. One person was pronounced dead at the site. The driver and two other passengers were rushed to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with serious injuries, authorities said.

A male driver and a female passenger in the Subaru were sent to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The highway patrol said that a baby in the Subaru’s back seat looked to be unhurt.

U.S. 101 northbound was closed from the moment of the crash until around 4:30 p.m.
