Off-duty Las Vegas Officer Dies in Fatal Wrong-way Crash on I-15 Near Valley of Fire, Survived by Wife and Three Young Children

According to Metro police, a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officer was coming home after his shift when he was involved in a collision on Interstate 15 that occurred early on Thursday morning. The officer was traveling in the wrong direction.

Officer Colton Pulsipher, 29, was driving his vehicle while off-duty when he was struck by a driver who was traveling the wrong way. It was one of the two victims who passed away as a result of the accident that occurred overnight on northbound Interstate 15 close to Valley of Fire State Park.

According to a post that Metro made on Instagram, “He is survived by his loving wife and three children, who remain in our thoughts during this unimaginably difficult time.”

In 2017, Pulsipher became a member of the Metro Police Department and was assigned to the Tourist Safety Division of the Traffic Bureau.

A collision involving many automobiles was reported to have occurred just before 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, approximately 45 miles northeast of Las Vegas, as stated by the Nevada State Police.

A woman who had injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening was transported to Las Vegas by Mercy Air, according to the state police. The officer and another guy were both killed in the collision.

Two o’clock in the afternoon saw the reopening of the northbound lanes of Interstate 15 at Mile Marker 75, which is located close to the Valley of Fire/Tribal Plaza Exit.
