Major Gang Crackdown Results in 35-Year Sentence for D.C. Man on Drug and Gun Charges

A D.C. man was sentenced to 35 years in federal prison because of drug-trafficking and gun charges.

Broadus Jamal Daniels, 30, also known as “Wardy,” was a senior member in the “Jugg Gang” or “JG” street gang. Jugg Gang formed an alliance with “Push Dat Sh*t” or “PDS” in 2018 which caused them to become the target of rival gangs in the area, according to the U.S Department of Justice.

PDS/JG members began assembling ghost gun altered AR-pistol assault rifles to be fully automatic from kits purchased online. They used the ghost guns to deter rival gangs from entering their territory, said the U.S. Department of Justice.

A jury found Daniels guilty of:

  • possessing machine guns in furtherance of drug trafficking
  • unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • conspiracy to distribute more than 100 kilograms of marijuana
  • possession with the intent to distribute marijuana
  • unlawful possession of machine guns
  • possessing firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking.

This sentencing is part of an ongoing joint investigation which has resulted in 26 convictions, and the seizure of two vehicles, 35 firearms, four machine guns, more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition, around 60 pounds of marijuana, 41 grams of cocaine base, dozens of oxycodone pills, and approximately $500,000 in cash, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
