Iowa Man Sentenced to 230 Months in Federal Prison for Trafficking Two Pounds of Methamphetamine

A Burlington man was sentenced to 230 months in federal prison for trafficking methamphetamines.

According to public court records, David Lee Davis, Jr., 38, gave an undercover law enforcement officer roughly two pounds of methamphetamine in October 2022.

Davis was serving a federal supervised release sentence for conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine and possession of a weapon in furtherance of a narcotics trafficking violation from 2012, according to public court documents.

Davis’ term of supervised release was revoked, and he was sentenced to 51 months in addition to his 230-month sentence, according to court records.

Davis will serve a five-year term of supervised release after completing his jail sentence, according to court records. There is no parole under the federal system.

Richard D. Westphal, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Iowa, made the announcement.

This case was investigated by the Quad Cities Metropolitan Enforcement Group, Southeast Iowa Narcotics Task Force, Davenport Police Department, Scott County Special Operations Unit, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
