Thanks to the 2025 COLA hike, millions of Americans will receive a 2.5% raise from Social Security in 2025. Even if you do not receive this rise until January 2025, retirees can look into future amounts.
The Social Security Administration will shortly send a note informing recipients of the revised amounts after the COLA. These notices will be mailed in December, but retirees will be able to access them through their Social Security account.
2025 Cola for Elderly Couples Receiving Social Security
As of January 2024, aged couples receiving Social Security benefits received a projected average check of $3,014. This amount increased following the 2024 COLA hike, which was 3.2 percent, somewhat higher than in 2025.
Since the COLA for 2025 was announced on October 10, recipients can learn about future amounts in 2025. After the cost-of-living adjustment, couples who both receive Social Security will get around $3,089 on average.
If you and your spouse have worked for at least ten years and collected enough work credits, you can apply for Social Security at age 62. Some spouses can receive spousal benefits based on the worker’s record.
