They are helping to facilitate a train disaster that is directly on our way. The harm being done to people whose government help and vital funds are being torn to pieces on the tracks is acknowledged by Ohio Republicans in the U.S. House and Senate.
Republican lawmakers from Ohio who are sent to Congress either ignore the brakeless juggernaut tearing down American neighborhoods or swear that it will only destroy things that don’t important, while rudderless Democrats stare like a deer in headlights.
Affordably priced child care, housing, clean air and water, consumer financial protections, high-quality public education, veteran affairs, federal aviation security, and science and medical research to cure diseases (with cutting-edge innovation and thousands of Ohio jobs at stake), Medicaid health care coverage (insuring over 3 million Ohio residents), or food aid (serving an increasing number of Ohio families and seniors on fixed incomes).
Is it possible for the federal bureaucracy that Congress created to serve the public to be more economical and efficient? Of course. However, with little protest from Ohio Republicans on Capitol Hill, Donald Trump purged government watchdogs, or inspectors general, who identify and stop waste, fraud, and abuse within federal agencies. Not at all.
Ignore the fact that the law requires the president to notify Congress of any terminations and the reason for removal within 30 days. Trump has dismissed more than a dozen Inspectors General (IGs), who oversee the actions of millions of federal employees and provide impartial scrutiny of trillions of dollars in federal expenditures.

Does Ohio Representative Jim Jordan’s feigned outrage only apply to Democratic administrations, or where was his fury on the House Oversight Committee?
The Republican-controlled Congress will approve the immediate destruction of American democracy and the constitutional order unless and until a Democratic leader steps up to at least slow the train wreck that Trump and his billionaire friend Elon Musk have designed to indiscriminately destroy government of, by, and for the people.
In order to serve a convicted felon and his unelected proxy, rather than the people who sent them to Washington, GOP lemmings have given up all of their professed values, including constitutional conservatism, preservation of democracy, and due process.
According to Jordan’s usual subservience to the MAGA king, President Trump and Elon Musk are defending America. After Trump usurps congressional legislative authority without resistance, let him work to improve America.
GET THE HEADLINES FOR THE MORNING.
U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson gave the Dear Leader Article 1 authority of the purse, or the authority to regulate government spending, in a startling display of weakness.
He completely agreed that Trump could make huge cuts to federal expenditure without the consent of Congress by deploying the wealthiest guy in the world and his unscreened henchmen. According to Johnson, Americans assume that the commander in chief will be a responsible steward of public funds.
No, sir. In America, it is assumed that Congress controls the federal government’s finances and passes laws that the president takes an oath to faithfully carry out. But not in a government that no longer functions as a coequal branch.
Congressional Republicans submit to a vengeful White House bully and his shadow president who are frantically searching through personal information and removing everything he thinks is necessary from entire departments that handle everything from Social Security payments to tax refunds using cash that Congress has approved.
Congress’s Trumpian rubber stamps follow orders. Trump proposes to operate vast federal operations with a ridiculous clown show of manifestly unfit clowns? No issue.
New Republican senators from Ohio, Jon Husted and Bernie Moreno, announced their party line: “Yes, vote for every Trump nominee that is worse than the last.”
Why not the defense secretary, a cable TV weekend presenter who was allegedly fired from leadership positions at two tiny nonprofits that serve veterans due to egregious financial mismanagement, extreme intoxication, and misogynistic conduct?
Additionally, in 2017, Pete Hegseth paid $50,000 to a woman who accused him of sexual assault.
However, Moreno raved about him leading the Defense Department with no regard for the nation, saying that a reputed alcoholic with solid allegations of mistreatment of women (which even his mother denied) would be in charge of the American military: “Pete Hegseth will be a phenomenal Sec. of Defense.” I was really impressed with him and liked him before I met him. Excellent decision.
Husted shared a photo of himself grinning with Tulsi Gabbard, a fierce national security threat appointed to head America’s massive national security apparatus, and a fangirl of violent dictators in repressive, anti-democratic regimes and Kremlin allies. She will do a great job of serving President Trump and our country by researching threats and security.
Husted acknowledged the appointment of a highly disturbed and careless conspiracy theorist/anti-vaxer to the nation’s top health position in the same lockstep conformity: I believe RFK Jr. will be a welcome change and contribute new ideas to the Health and Human Services Department.
With wildly incompetent government leadership, widespread service shutdowns, and mass layoffs of government workers, the train catastrophe is directly approaching us. It will not go well.
Ohio Republicans must answer for their inexcusable role in the devastation that lays waste to America because they are too terrified of the billionaire enforcer and the mafia boss in the White House to defend the people they represent and end the senseless suffering that millions will endure.
Ohio Republicans in Congress on the hook for letting Musk rip apart programs serving Ohioans
