9-year-old Boy Hospitalized in Critical Condition After Being Left in Car During Dallas Crash, Police Report

DALLAS – A nine-year-old child is in critical condition at a Dallas hospital after being left behind in a car during an overnight crash, according to authorities.

Around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dallas Police Department officers responded to an accident in the 2100 block of Arden Road.

According to police, Monica Tutt, 39, was speeding when she hit an empty parked automobile on Arden Road. According to Dallas police, Tutt fled the scene but was eventually found.

They also discovered a nine-year-old child who was in the vehicle with Tutt at the time of the accident. Police said he is in critical condition at the hospital.

It is unknown what Tutt’s relationship with the child is. Tutt was detained and charged with intoxicated assault and a collision resulting in injury.

Police say the inquiry is still ongoing.
