CHICAGO — Witnesses were uncooperative, Chicago police say after a 26-year-old man was shot in the Auburn Gresham area on the city’s Southwest Side and died at a hospital on Saturday night.
According to police, the individual was standing with others in an empty lot in the 7900 block of South Ashland Avenue at 10:15 p.m. when bullets were fired nearby.
The victim was struck twice on the left side and once on the arm and was sent to a nearby hospital in severe condition, where he was subsequently pronounced dead.
Police report that witnesses on the site were “very uncooperative” and refused to speak with investigators about the incident.
Nobody is in custody, and investigators from Area Two are looking into the case.
