A 22-year-old man was gravely injured in a drive-by shooting early Friday morning in the South Side’s Back of the Yards neighborhood, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
Around 2:00 a.m., the victim was on a sidewalk in the 4800 block of South Ashland Avenue when gunmen in a dark SUV opened fire on him, wounding him multiple times in the chest.
According to Chicago police, the person was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center and is currently in critical condition.
Detectives from Area 1 are aggressively investigating the incident, but no arrests have been announced.
