Woman Charged With Murder After Stabbing McDonald’s Employee During Lunch in Mississippi

A woman stabbed a McDonald’s employee to death by pouncing and knifing him while he was eating his lunch, according to police.

WLBT reports that Destiny Gordon has been charged with murder in connection with the event. On Monday, she appeared in a Mississippi courthouse for an arraignment, during which bail was set at $2 million.

Christopher Borras, 22, was allegedly attacked by Gibson while eating in a Jackson, Mississippi, restaurant on Sunday.

Borras was eating his lunch and surfing Wi-Fi in the dining area when Gibson struck during a fight, according to authorities. She went on top of the victim and stabbed him in the chest. Borras attempted to run, but Gibson followed him.

Jackson police Chief Joseph Wade told WAPT that there was an argument before the stabbing, but it’s unclear what it was over.

“Whatever the verbal exchange was, it did not justify you producing this very large knife to take this young man’s life,” Wade told the newspaper. A good Samaritan inside the store assisted in apprehending Gibson until police came.

According to Gibson’s defense attorney, he is homeless but has resided in the region for five years.

According to WAPT, she is also suspected of assaulting another inmate after being arrested. In that case, authorities said Gibson stabbed another inmate in the eye with a spoon. She will most likely be housed separately from the other inmates.

After Borras’ death, the McDonald’s operator issued a statement claiming he was “shocked and devastated by this violent attack on one of our own.”

“We are providing counseling to our crew members and fully cooperating with law enforcement during their investigation,” said Michael Valluzo, the ship’s manager.
