
Winnsborro defeated the Atlanta Rabbits 28-14 in the Bi-District playoff in Longview, Texas.
ATL got on the board first with a 77-yd TD run by Batton. 2-pt try was good on a diving catch by Dickerson in the end zone. ATL’s next possession they were unable to convert a 4th down attempt and turned it over in their own territory.
Winnsboro capitalized on Atlanta’s unsuccessful 4th down attempt
Winnsboro converted that into a TD of their own to tie it up with the 2 pt try. Winnsboro held ATL with a goal line stand at the 2-yd line and then marched 98 yards for a touchdown and extra point to take a 15-8 lead into halftime.
Both teams adjusted their offenses after halftime due to the rain and strong winds with both mostly running the ball in the 2nd half. Winnsboro outscored ATL 13-6 in the 2nd half to pull away for the win. Each team had 3 turnovers in the game. ATL went from 0-10 last year to 7-4 this year.
