Will Woodruff took the pill to the hill and lead the Atlanta Rabbits baseball team to a 8-0 shutout over the Mount Vernon Tigers in game 1 of a 3-game bi-district playoff at Hooks Thursday.
Woodruff pitched the complete game shutout allowing only 2 hits and striking out eight. Woodruff was also 2-for-5 with a run scored offensively.
Atlanta pounded the Tigers pitchers with 16 hits. Peyton Harrison led the Rabbits batters with 3 hits in 5 plate appearances with an RBI and a run. Nick Burden and Easton Owens each doubled twice and Dex Ebarb and Jaden Riley each had a double a piece.
Atlanta head coach David Hooten couldn’t say enough about Woodruff’s performance
“Will Woodruff did a great job on the mound for us. He put up zeros on the scoreboard early, allowing our offense to get going in the second inning,” Atlanta Rabbits head baseball coach David Hooten said. “We played clean defense and competed well.”
