The Lexington Police Department announced that two persons were arrested after reportedly kidnapping three children in Fayette County on October 7.
Police stated that at about 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 7, Crimes Against Children Detectives were notified of an abduction in which two “non-custodial family members” kidnapped three children and were likely attempting to transport them out of the state.
Detectives moved quickly to identify the suspect car using authority and technology. On the evening of October 7, troopers from the Delaware State Police stopped the suspicious car and discovered the children.
Police detained two people, Ashley Brown, 29, and Kolene Shahan, 50, and charged them with three counts of first-degree kidnapping.
