A two-car collision that occurred on Wednesday in Cumberland County resulted in the injuries of six persons, including a child who was just one year old, according to the state troopers.
In the afternoon of Thursday, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol reported that the infant, who was just one year old, had passed away as a result of their injuries.
The remaining five are currently being treated in a hospital and are in critical condition.
The two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision on the southbound side of Turnbull Road on Wednesday night, as recorded by the highway patrol.
All six were taken to Cape Fear Valley Hospital without delay from the moment they were discovered.
