A lady was killed and several were injured in an incident that closed Interstate 95 early Friday, according to authorities.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a blue Dodge SUV driving north on I-95 at NW 119th Street lost control and collided with a concrete barrier wall around 2:20 a.m.
According to the FHP, the Dodge became immobilized and blocked the route.
According to the FHP, an incoming black Honda sedan collided with the Dodge and several of its passengers, who were standing on the road.
Authorities report that a woman died at the site as a result of her injuries. Two more were transported to Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.
Miami Dade Fire Rescue first reported that four cars were involved. The fire brigade also reported five patients, however, it is unclear whether the deceased victim was included in that number.
Drivers were directed off NW 103rd Street until the lanes reopened at about 6:30 a.m.
