Three Separate Violent Incidents in Bricktown Leave Six Hospitalized, Oklahoma City Police Investigate

Oklahoma City Police had a busy weekend in Bricktown.

Three violent incidents occurred within a mile radius, resulting in three different crime scenes and six hospitalizations.

Police responded to a shooting in Bricktown shortly after 10 p.m. on Saturday.

According to police, four persons were shot, and three were taken into custody. None of the four victims sustained life-threatening injuries. The incident occurred near Dave’s Hot Chicken and the Harkins Theatre.

“We went to see a movie and when we came out, we saw a lot of cop cars behind us,” Jada Glace told me.

The crime scene kept Glace and her partner from leaving the parking lot for more than four hours.

Investigators said they discovered two firearms on the scene, but they don’t know what prompted the shooting. “At first we thought it was just Bass Pro Shops, but I guess it’s everywhere,” Glace told me.

An unconnected gunshot occurred less than a mile distant, less than an hour earlier.

According to police, a brawl broke out in the Bass Pro parking lot at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday. A suspect fired two shots and struck a male victim in the arm.

The victim was sent to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

According to officers at the scene, the suspect is a black male who was last seen fleeing the parking lot. This follows an early Saturday morning stabbing in Bricktown.

According to police, an altercation broke out between two guys shortly after midnight between Sheridan and Mickey Mantle.

One man was stabbed in the chest and taken to a hospital. Police are still searching for the suspect, who they say is a different black male who fled the area.

Some residents of Bricktown feel frightened due to violent patterns. “No, no it’s not safe you got kids out here dying for real,” she responded.

News 9 contacted Oklahoma City Police today for an update and additional information on all three investigations.

We’re assured that more information will be published on Monday.
