A woman from South Carolina was discovered dead in North Carolina several weeks after the police stated that she had been reported missing.
WSOC, an affiliate of ABC11, was informed by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department that the body of Ta’haley Payton, who was 22 years old, was discovered on Monday close to a park.
In November, Payton was reported missing after her last known whereabouts were near Charlottetown Avenue. This is the same location where her body was discovered several weeks later.
Payton was reportedly celebrating her birthday with her partner in Charlotte, North Carolina, despite the fact that she was originally from Greenville, South Carolina.
Payton’s friends informed WSOC that she was having a disagreement with her boyfriend at the Microtel Inn & Suites in north Charlotte. The dispute took place the night before her boyfriend left without her the following day.
In the later part of that afternoon, a worker at a Crumbl Cookies shop stated that Payton went inside in search of assistance.
“She just asked to use my phone, and I just handed it to her,” I said. According to her, her boyfriend ejected her from the vehicle. “He was discovered with another girl, and she required transportation,” a witness named Emily Stewart told WSOC.
According to her, Payton contacted her mother and went back to the business two more times to use the phone.
“As it turns out, she also sent a message to her boyfriend using my phone. The statement that Stewart made was, “I guess she said I’ll sleep outside tonight and I’m sorry for everything.”
