Sooners walk-off Frogs 7-6

NORMAN, Okla. — The Oklahoma Sooners walked off the TCU Horned Frogs Friday night with a 7-6 win at L. Dale Mitchell Park.

The Horned Frogs battled back from a 4-0 deficit and even tied the game 6-6 in the ninth inning. However, they failed to get a critical out and Oklahoma took home the first win in the series.

A pair of errors helped Oklahoma plate three unearned runs in the first inning, leading to a 4-0 deficit for TCU.

The Frogs had a two-out rally in the fourth inning that closed the gap to 4-3. However, the Sooners plated a run in the bottom of the fourth to extend their lead 5-3.

Starter Nick Lodolo allowed six runs with three of them unearned on 10 hits in 5.1 innings. Lodolo didn’t walk a butter and fanned five in the no-decision. Jake Eissler suffered the loss (3-3) in relief and allowed a run on three hits, walked another, and struck other one in 2.2 innings of work.

The Horned Frogs are 18-10 on the season with a 3-4 mark in the Big 12. Game two is Saturday at 2:00 p.m. with Charles King to make the start on the mound for TCU, his first of the season.
