Six Killed in Newark Tragedy as Car Veers Off Road and Crashes Into Pulaski Skyway Column, Bursting Into Flames

Six people died in a catastrophic incident in Newark, New Jersey after their car collided with a support column under the Pulaski Skyway.

Investigators said the incident occurred late Friday night near Raymond Boulevard and Blanchard Street, near the freeway’s southbound entrance ramp.

Police did not immediately reveal the victims’ names, but Natasha McKnight of Jersey City confirmed to CBS News New York that two of her kids were slain.

According to new research, fatal collisions are increasing in New Jersey this year. The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the car in Newark veered off-road and became airborne before colliding with the column, killing all six individuals inside.

The prosecutor’s office stated that after landing, it exploded into flames. The charred wreckage of the automobile can be seen in video footage from the site under the flyover.

The crash is still under investigation.
