According to the National Weather Service, the Bay Area should expect a shift in weather patterns early next week, with colder temperatures and a higher probability of rain.
A dry air mass and mild offshore winds have recently prevailed, resulting in extremely low dew points—down to the teens in portions of Monterey.
However, by tonight, a weak weather trough is forecast to deliver a wave of high clouds, a magnificent sunset, and light rain to the North Bay coastal ranges.
As humidity levels rise, the trough causes a shift toward stronger onshore flow, indicating a more weather pattern. Next week is expected to bring early rain, with more probable later in the week, signaling a shift to wetter, cooler weather over the region.
