WACO, Texas – Rain halted play in the second inning between the No. 12 Texas Longhorns and the Baylor Bears Sunday at Baylor Ballpark.
The Longhorns held a 6-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning before the four and a half hour rain delay.
Because the game didn’t reach five innings before the delay, it will be officially ruled as a no-contest.
The first delay was at the end of the first inning with Texas taking a 4-0 lead. After a 25-minute delay, Texas and Baylor played the top of the second and were a batter into the bottom of the second when play was halted for the second time and the Longhorns now leading 6-0.
Texas returns to the action Tuesday with a 6:30 p.m. match-up with Rice at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
Baylor takes to the road Tuesday to face the UT-Arlington Mavericks also with a 6:30 p.m. first pitch.
