Rabbs drop two baseball games in Rusk tournament

RUSK, Texas – Atlanta batters ran into some tough pitching Thursday in the Rusk Classic. The Rabbits lost to Center, 3-1, and host Eagles, 2-1.

The Roughriders improve to 2-5 with their victory. Jase Bird was the winning pitcher, while Randall Mason lost.

Zac Smith and Gabrial Rebollar had two hits each for Center. Cooper McClure led Atlanta with three hits.


Rusk scores late to beat Rabbs

The Eagles scored on a two-out single in the seventh inning to edge the Rabbs.

Atlanta had tied the game in the sixth with McClure singled and eventually scored.

Kelby Smith was the hard-luck loser against the Eagles. Kade Wood, Hunter Allen and Smith had singles for the Rabbs.
