Queen City beats Hughes Springs 2-1

The Queen City Bulldogs won a close one against Hughes Springs 2-1 Friday afternoon.

Hughes Springs could only muster five hits against the Bulldogs.

Noah Perkins earned the win for Queen City, going 6.2 innings and allowing five hits and a run while retiring five. Mayfield collected the save for Queen City as he threw 0.1 inning out of the bullpen.

The Bulldogs produced nine hits with Mayfield and Shawn Powell earning multiple hits. Mayfield and Powell each collected two hits for the Bulldogs.

Joe Bush was the losing pitcher for Hughes Springs, allowing eight hits and two runs throughout three innings. Bush was able to strike out three and not surrender a walk.

Pat Boys started off for Hughes Springs, but the Bulldogs chased him off the mound after two innings.
