WACO — The Baylor Bears’ pitching was exemplary Friday night in their 3-0 win over Cal Poly Friday night at Baylor Ballpark.
Paul Dickens threw for a career-high 7.0 innings and allowed one hit while walking two and striking out five in seven shutout innings. The two hits Cal Poly totaled were the lowest of the season for a Baylor opponent.
The win was Dickens’ second of the season and moves Baylor to 12-4 on the season.
Shea Langeliers had two RBI on the night. Andy Thomas picked up the other RBI for Baylor.
Baylor hosts Cal Poly for game two Saturday at 3:05 p.m. for what will be Salute to Heroes Day at Baylor Ballpark where all members of the military and first responders will get in free to the game with a valid ID.
