A 45-year-old man was killed and another injured in an early Friday morning incident involving a box truck in Prince George’s County, according to Maryland State Police (MSP).
Shortly before 2:30 a.m., MSP troopers responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash on Maryland Route 4 at Woodyard Road in Clinton.
MSP stated that the driver and sole occupant of a car was pronounced dead on the spot. They later identified the body as Joseph Henry Irick from Fort Washington, Maryland.
The driver and one occupant of the box truck were transported by EMS to the University of Maryland Capital Regional Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.
At 5 a.m., all southbound lanes remained closed. But, as of 9:30 a.m., all lanes have reopened.
Officials are investigating the cause of the crash.
