Oklahoma State holds on against TCU, 9-8

FORT WORTH — The Oklahoma State Cowboys held forth against the TCU Horned Frogs and came away with a 9-8 win Sunday afternoon at Lupton Stadium.

The Frogs were tied 7-7 heading into the ninth inning as Adam Oviedo hit a two-out, two-run double in the bottom of the eighth inning to knot things up.

In the ninth inning, Oklahoma State scored twice as they took advantage of a two-out error. The Horned Frogs added  run and even had bases loaded, but a diving stop from the Cowboys third baseman on a ball down the line ended the rally. The Frogs were living on a thin line the whole game as six of their eight runs came with two outs.

Pitcher Charles King took the loss for TCU as he gave up three runs, one earned, and two hits in 5.1 innings.

TCU is 17-9 on the year with a 3-3 record in Big 12 play. The Frogs stay at home to host UT-Arlington Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m.
