
TUSCALOOSA, Alabama – The No. 18 Texas A&M Aggies dropped a 2-1 decision to Alabama Saturday afternoon at Sewell-Thomas Stadium as the Crimson Tide evened the series.
Alabama scored both their runs on solo home runs, including one by T.J. Reeves in the first inning and one by Tyler Ras in the fourth.
Aggie starter Asa Lacy (7-4) was ejected by home plate umpire Ryan Broussard with one out in the bottom of the fifth inning and was saddled with the loss. He worked 4.1 innings, allowing two runs on two hits and five walks while striking out seven.
The Texas A&M bullpen worked 3.2 shutout innings. Chandler Jozwiak was solid in 2.0 innings, scattering three hits while striking out two. Bryce Miller pitched 1.2 frames, with one hit and one walk while striking out two.
Cam Blake led the Aggies’ offense going 2-for-4 with a triple and the Aggies’ lone run.
Texas A&M dropped to 33-18-1 overall and 13-12-1 in SEC play. Alabama improved to 29-22 overall and 7-19 in league action.
The rubber match is slated for Sunday at 2:02 p.m.
