The sun certainly made it feel pleasant this afternoon in the neighborhood, but after the sun goes down, temperatures will drop like a rock.
We may expect low 40s by 7 p.m., upper 30s by 10 p.m., and temperatures below freezing just after midnight. The skies stay bright south of I-20, but to the north, clouds will sweep through overnight, with flurries likely in far northern Alabama.
Tuesday will be a cool and breezy day. Despite the beautiful skies, temperatures on Tuesday will struggle to reach the mid-40s. A north wind will blow at speeds ranging from 10 to 20 miles per hour. A widespread freeze is expected Tuesday night, with temperatures in some regions dropping into the mid-20s.
Clouds will increase on Wednesday as a light storm system approaches from the southwest. Expect a significant amount of rain overnight Wednesday night, with rain stopping before dawn Thursday morning.
Chilly weather is expected Thursday night and Friday, with a chance of freezing. Temperatures may not rise above the 40s on Friday.
Clouds will rise over the weekend, with rain expected Saturday night and Sunday.
