Man Wanted for Child Sex Crimes in Oregon and Alabama Surrenders to Police

A guy wanted for child sex crimes in both Oregon and Alabama turned himself in on Tuesday in Mobile, Alabama. It concludes a month-long nationwide manhunt.

According to the Wasco County Sheriff’s Office, Adam Renk, 39, was denied bond after a hearing Wednesday and will remain in Alabama. After his Alabama case is resolved, he will most likely be extradited to Oregon.

According to a Wasco County indictment, Renk reportedly had sexual contact with a young girl around June 1, 2020, however, the indictment was not filed until September 4, 2024.

Renk’s arrest warrant for Unlawful Sexual Penetration, Sodomy, and Sex Abuse remains active, according to the Wasco County District Attorney’s Office.

As part of their investigation, Oregon State Police discovered Renk was charged in another instance involving sexual assault of an 11-year-old in Mobile. Renk was released from pre-trial jail after posting a bond in that case, which prompted the manhunt.
