Man Pleads Not Guilty to Charges in Fatal Miamisburg Shooting

The man accused of fatally shooting a woman in Miamisburg last week is now facing multiple charges.

Dametrius Turner, 32, was charged on Friday with two counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault, and additional charges of grand theft, tampering with evidence, aggravated drug possession, and assault, according to court records from Miamisburg Municipal Court.

On Monday, Turner pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Police responded to a shooting report at a home on Golden Arrow Court on the evening of March 12.

When officers arrived, they found 52-year-old Leslie Ross, of Dayton, with multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man who was inside the house at the time told police he was in his bedroom when he heard a “slapping sound coming from the basement,” according to court documents.

Shortly after, Turner reportedly came upstairs and told the man that he had “messed up” and needed help.

Police reviewed Ring camera footage from inside the home. The video captured shouting from the basement, followed by five gunshots.

Around 10 seconds after the last shot, Turner was seen coming upstairs holding a gun before shoving it into his shorts pocket.

Another Ring camera later captured Turner leaving the house.

Police searched for him for over 12 hours before he was spotted by a couple walking down the street on Thursday around noon.

After his arrest, Turner was taken to a hospital for chest pains but has since been transferred to the Montgomery County Jail.

He is scheduled to appear in court again next week.
