Lady Bulldogs win regional quarterfinal title sweeping Troup

Queen City Lady Bulldogs made school history as Regional Quarter Final Champs, sweeping Troup 2-games-to-none. The Lady Bulldogs finished the third round sweep of Troup with a 3-0 victory at ETBU Friday.

Trinity Oden went the distance with 12 k’s,  no walks,  2 hits while throwing only 79 pitches.  Mallori Stringer drove in the first and what would be the winning run on an RBI double in the first inning.  Stringer had two doubles in the game.

Trinity Oden would extend the lead in the sixth with a solo home run moonshot to center field.

Lauren Carrell had a double and Brenna Turbeville contributed an RBI triple in the 7th to cap the scoring.  The Lady Bulldogs played strong defense once again behind the pitching efforts of Oden to shutout the Troup Tigers on back to back nights.

“We are really excited to break new ground in softball here reaching the fourth round for the first time in school history,” Eric Droddy, Queen City Lady Bulldogs head softball coach said. “These girls are really coming together at the right time and are looking forward to the challenge of round four.”
The Lady Bulldogs await the winner of the Whitesboro/Prairiland series in next weeks Regional Semifinals. The Queen City Lady Bulldogs Regional semifinal playoff games will be broadcast live on Caddo Country 105.3 FM.
