
The Queen City Lady Bulldogs mauled the Mineola Lady Yellow Jackets 24-2 in game 2 of the bi-district playoffs Saturday night at Pine Tree. The Lady Dogs swept the series 2-games-to-none and are the 2023 Bi-District Champions.
The Lady Bulldogs were leading 10-1 going into the 7th inning. However, they exploded for 14 runs in the final frame to coast to the 18 run win.
Trinity Oden was the player of the game
Trinity Oden was the winning pitcher for Queen City. She pitched 6 innings, striking out 8, walking 1, allowing 6 hits and 1 run. Trinity also had 3 hits including 2 home runs and she had 8 RBI.
Mallori Stringer Serenity Oden and Brenna Turbeville all scored 4 runs. Lauren Carrell had 4 hits 2 doubles and a triple with 3 RBI. Laurel Moore had 4 hits and 2 RBI.
Queen City head coach Eric Droddy said it was a good start to the playoffs
“We had a good start to the playoffs, clean defense and we were able to execute some things offensively that we had been working on,” Eric Droddy, Queen City Lady Bulldogs head coach said. “I believe the expectation was that this is where we would be, but we aren’t taking anything for granted and are thankful for every new moment treating it like it’s the first.”
