Kroger unveiled a major expansion plan on Thursday, pledging to invest $130 million in its Cincinnati/Dayton division in 2025.
This investment includes the construction of three new supermarkets and the renovation of 16 existing locations across Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.
A key highlight of the plan is the new store in Eaton, Ohio, located roughly 25 miles west of Dayton. The grocer also intends to allocate $45 million for upgrades at existing stores, including expanding the Kroger Mulberry store in Milford and adding a fuel center at the Kroger location on Derr Road in Springfield, Ohio.
“Our investment of $130 million underscores our commitment to our associates, customers, and communities while providing a best-in-class shopping experience for everyone,” said Ann Reed, president of the Cincinnati/Dayton division.
This announcement builds on Kroger’s previous capital improvements, including $84 million in 2024 for projects in Ohio and Indiana. These investments reflect the company’s focus on enhancing its stores, even as it recovers from a failed merger attempt with Albertsons.
