Kentucky House Fire Leaves Child Rescued, Multiple Deaths Suspected as Investigation Continues

An investigation is underway following a house fire in Carrollton, Kentucky on Thursday morning, in which a young kid was saved but multiple individuals may have died, according to Carrollton police.

According to officials, a 911 call was placed at 6 a.m. Thursday to report a structure fire in the 200 block of 5th Street in Carrollton. According to authorities, first responders came six minutes later and rescued a young girl, thought to be three years old, from the home.

Authorities say the youngster was near the home’s door, prostrate on the floor, and an officer was able to enter and remove her. She was brought to Carroll County Hospital and then moved to a facility in Louisville.

According to officials, the fire is being examined by both Kentucky State Police arson investigators and state Fire Marshals.

According to police, there “could possibly be multiple” deaths as a result of the incident. Officials suspect there are five or six persons living in the house.

Officials say the two-story house with a basement was entirely engulfed in flames and collapsed on itself.
