Hooks outlasts Linden-Kildare 4-2 in Highway 11 tourney

The Hooks Hornets took care of the Linden-Kildare Tigers 4-2 in the Highway 11 Tournament Thursday afternoon.

Matt Hays earned the win for the Hornets as he went 5.2 innings, giving up six hits, two runs, two walks, a hit-by-pitch, and striking out five. Hudson Davis earned the save for Hooks as he pitched 0.1 inning and got a strikeout.

Mayson Lemmon was saddled with the loss for the Tigers as he went 0.2 innings, giving up two hits, four runs, four walks, a hit-by-pitch, and striking out one. Carter Foreman added 4.1 innings for the Tigers as he gave up three hits, two walks, and four strikeouts.

At the plate, the Hornets were led by Lane McMillan, who went 2-3 and scored a run. Kameron Choate went 1-3 with a double and a run scored.

For the Tigers, Jonathan Owen was 2-3 with two runs. Foreman went 2-3 with an RBI.
