
Senior running back enjoyed a career-best 233 yards and 3 touchdowns on 31 carries in leading Texas High past rival Arkansas High Friday night at Razorback Stadium, 28-7. That performance earned Cooper the Dewey Moore Ford/Fox Sports Texarkana Player of the Week.
Some fans missed first TD by Cooper
Fans were still walking into the stadium when Cooper scored his first touchdown on a 2-yard run with 9:20 left in the first quarter. His second six-pointer was a 50-yard dash early in the second quarter. Cooper scored again with 6:16 left in the game on a 6-yard run.
The win was Texas High’s second straight in its 104th meeting with the Razorbacks. It was only Arkansas High coach Barry Norton’s fourth loss in 21 of these encounters.

Panthers’ Lansdell joins Cooper on honor roll
Fouke quarterback Hunter Lansdell passed for four touchdowns and ran for two more Friday as the Panthers outscored Gurdon, 41-34. Lansdell finished with 296 yards in the air, while running for another 69. Lansdell is the Dewey Moore Ford/ESPN Texarkana Player of the Week.
Kanan Garrett caught all four of Lansdell’s touchdown passes.
KPYN recognizes Rabbits’ Hamilton
Atlanta running back Caleb Hamilton is the Dewey Moore Ford/KPYN Player of the Week after running for 156 yards and 2 touchdowns on 12 carries in the Rabbits’ 35-28 victory over Gladewater.
The Rabbits’ first win of 2019 make them 1-1 going into next week’s game at Pleasant Grove.
