Georgia is experiencing an Arctic blast, which has resulted in freezing weather and fire risks.
Today’s highs range from the mid-30s to near 50 degrees, up to 19 degrees below average, thanks to a chilly airmass in northern Manitoba.
Dewpoints have dropped into the single digits, setting new lows for this time of year.
Under clear skies, relative humidity is forecast to fall below 25%, prompting a Fire Danger Statement until 7 p.m. to advise outdoor burning measures.
Saturday morning lows will fall into the teens and 20s, with calm winds reducing wind chill. A slight warming trend will bring highs into the 50s tomorrow.
However, low humidity along the Alabama-Georgia border may result in additional fire weather alerts during the weekend. Maintain vigilance!
