Fort Smith Northside edges Rabbs 4-3 at Border Battle tourney

TEXARKANA — The Fort Smith Northside Grizzlies outlasted the Atlanta Rabbits 4-3 Friday afternoon at the Border Battle tournament at Texas High School.

The winning pitcher was Northside’s Landon Parnell, who went 6.0 innings and gave up seven hits, three runs, two hit-by-pitches, and struck out four.

Rabbs pitcher Nick Burden was saddled with the loss as he went 0.2 innings, gave up a hit, a run, a walked, a hit-by-pitch, and had a strikeout.

Dylan Spears was the Superior Realty Player of the Game for Atlanta. Spears went 5.0 innings, gave up six hits, three runs, two walks, and had four strikeouts.

Cooper McClure led the Rabbs at the plate as he went 2-3 with a triple, an RBI, and a run scored. Will Woodruff was 2-3 with an RBI. Ashton Harper went 1-2 with a run.

Jaydon Dilworth was 2-3 with two runs for Fort Smith Northside. Eli Calderera was 3-3 with a run and an RBI. Jaydon Darnell was 1-3 with an RBI.
