John Fetterman (D-Pa.), who called a widely shared “choose-your-fighter” TikTok video with several Democratic politicians, including Crockett, “bizarre,” got back at Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas).
Crockett said that Fetterman often wears a sweatshirt when he goes onto the floor of the chamber in an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
Criskett said, “He’s not the one to talk about anything.” “This guy doesn’t seem to want to own a suit. I’m not sure if he does want to own a suit.” When I’m going on the floor, though, I don’t wear jackets.
Crockett explained the video by saying that an influencer asked the six Democrats to be in it and that she didn’t know much about the trend before hand. However, she said that it’s important for people to see lawmakers laughing.
“I believe it’s important for people to see that we’re real people. If that means having a moment to laugh, that’s fine, too, since it looks like we’re crying a lot.”
While we weren’t jumping around on the House floor, she said, “Senator Fetterman walks around the Senate chamber all the time, and he walks in such a way that they had to change the rules in the Senate so he could walk around that way.” She then pointed out that the Senate had to change its dress code.
“So I don’t think he’s necessarily the right person to say what he thinks about this,” she said.
