An incident involving two automobiles in eastern Richland County killed one person and wounded two others.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol Master Trooper William Bennett, the collision happened on Sunday, December 1 at 7:27 p.m. near the intersection of McCord’s Ferry and Screaming Eagle roads.
A 2021 Toyota pickup was heading north on McCords Ferry/SC-601 when it collided with a 2003 Ford pickup traveling south on McCords Ferry.
The Ford was forced off the road and into an embankment as a result of the collision. The Ford driver died on the spot as a result of his injuries.
The driver and passenger of the Toyota were brought to Prisma Health for injuries sustained in the accident.
The SCHP continues to investigate the accident.
