ELYSIAN FIELDS, Texas — The Elysian Fields Yellowjackets took care of the Queen City Bulldogs 51-6 Friday night at Jacket Stadium.
The Bulldogs had a tough time rushing on the ground with 25 attempts for minus-5 yards. The offense moved through the air with 13-of-25 passing for 137 yards and a touchdown. The Yellowjackets produced 425 yards of total offense with 226 of those yards coming on 32 carries. Elysian Fields’ passing game collected 10-of-17 for 199 yards, two touchdowns, but the Bulldogs intercepted a pass.
Elysian Fields tallied 21 first downs to Queen City’s 10. The Bulldogs had fewer penalties with just eight compared to the Yellowjackets’ 10. However, the Bulldogs had more penalty yardage with 90 compared to the Yellowjackets’ 86.
Queen City fumbled four times and lost two. They were the only side to punt on the evening, as they booted five fro 166 yards. One of those punts was blocked.
Queen City falls to 0-6 on the season with an 0-3 record in district play. The Bulldogs go home to host Daingerfield next Friday at Smith-Wall Stadium.
The Yellowjackets are 4-2 overall with a 2-1 record in district play. Elysian Fields goes on the road next week to Waskom.
