
NEW DIANA, Texas — The New Diana Eagles dismantled the Queen City Bulldogs 49-6 Friday night at Eagle Stadium to open district play for both teams.
New Diana out-gained the Bulldogs 235 yards to 139. The Eagles produced 33 carries for 152 yards and four touchdowns compared to Queen City’s 24 for minus-16 and a touchdown. The Bulldogs completed 11-of-26 for 155 yards and two interceptions while the Eagles went 4-of-13 for 83 yards and two touchdowns passing.
Queen City did managed to collect more first downs than New Diana with 12 to 10, and even had fewer penalties: 5-40 compared to 11-104. However, the Bulldogs lost two of their three fumbles while the Eagles only lost one.
The Bulldogs go home to Smith-Wall Stadium to host the De Kalb Bears next Friday night.
