Dirtbags blast TCU 14-3 to even series

LONG BEACH, Calif. — The Long Beach State Dirtbags destroyed the TCU Horned Frogs 14-3 Saturday night to even the three-game series.

Long Beach State took a 5-0 lead in the second inning thanks to a bases-loaded triple. In the third inning, the Dirtbags scored five more times as they sent 11 batters to the plate. Long Beach State added three runs in the fifth and another in the seventh to build a 14-0 lead.

TCU finally got on the board in the eighth inning with three runs, but were blanked in the ninth.

Josh Watson got his 200th career hit. Jake Eissler took the loss, his first of the season, and is now 2-1 on the year.

The Horned Frogs and the Dirtbags will play a rubber match at 3:00 p.m. Central Time Sunday. Brandon Williamson gets the start for TCU as they go for the series win.
