A Cass County Texas man was sentenced to life without parole for the murder of a man and woman earlier this year.
Judge Bill Miller handed down the sentence to Charles Sprayberry Tuesday after he pleaded guilty to the murder of John Thomas Jr and Jenifer Archer.
Police discovered the bodies of Thomas and Archer on March 11th.
The victims bodies were found with gunshot wounds in a camper that was burned to the ground.
Thomas’ and Archer’s families offered forgiveness
Thomas’ sisters said that they forgive Sprayberry.
“I don’t want the end of my brothers life here on earth to be remembered as just this horrific act of violence but of the grace and mercy I know GOD, and even J0hnny are extending up in heaven to you, Thomas’ sister said to Sprayberry. ” As hard as it is for my human side to say, my heart forgives you.”
One of Archer’s children spoke and she also extended forgiveness to Sprayberry.
“I’m in awe of the civility both families have shown during this time,” Cass County District Attorney Courtney Shelton said.
