California’s Coast Braces for High Surf: 14-22 FOOT WAVES EXPECTED, Dangerous Conditions Ahead

A High Surf Advisory has been issued for some coastal areas in California, where it warns of waves that are considered to be dangerously large.

Wave heights ranging from 14 to 19 feet are anticipated along beaches that face southwest, while waves ranging from 19 to 22 feet are anticipated for beaches that face west.

San Francisco, the Coastal North Bay, Point Reyes National Seashore, the San Francisco Peninsula, Southern Monterey Bay, and the Big Sur Coast are all included in the alert, which will remain in effect until Friday morning at six o’clock Pacific Standard Time.
