
FORT WORTH – TCU baseball sophomore Brayden Taylor has been named the Big 12 Player of the Week after his performance at the MLB4 Tournament in Scottsdale, Ariz. The honor is the second of his career.
Taylor hit .636 with a 1.551 OPS as the Horned Frogs took two-of-three games at the MLB4 Tournament in Scottsdale, Arizona. Taylor hit the game-tying double, then came around to score the go-ahead run in TCU’s come-from-behind rally to beat San Diego State 5-3 in the season opener. He went 2-for-4 with two RBIs against Cal and had a 3-for-4 day to close the weekend against Houston. Taylor had three multi-hit games, and reached base safely 11 times. He accounted for nine of TCU’s 21 runs on the weekend.
TCU returns to action on Tuesday night when it opens its home schedule against Stephen F. Austin. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. The contest will be televised on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
