Big 12 nears kickoff with game not being played stark reminder

Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby feels good about where the league is with nine teams getting ready to play season openers this week. But the game not being played provides a stark reminder of the uncertainty of playing amid COVID-19. TCU won’t be on the field because of a virus outbreak on its campus. Bowlsby doesn’t expect TCU to be the only Big 12 team to have to postpone a game this season. He says it’s good to be playing games, but adds “how far down the path that goes is anybody’s guess.” TCU was supposed to play SMU.
