Beckville eliminates McLeod in boys area baseball playoff with double header sweep

Beckville defeated the McLeod Longhorns in the area playoffs with a double header sweep in Marshall Wednesday. Beckville advanced to round three with the two-game-to none win in the series.

Beckville won the first game 5-1. Lance White was the winning pitcher for Beckville, and Kannon Dempsey picked up the loss. Dempsey pitched 2 and 2/3 innings allowing 5 runs on 6 hits while walking and striking out four.

The horns were led at the plate by Jaxon Smith who was 1-for-3  with a run scored. Hagen Courtney was 1-for-4, and Buddy Debeaux and Brannan Penny were each 1-for-two.

Beckville won the series by winning the nightcap

Beckville clinched the series with the win in the second game Wednesday. The final in game two was Beckville 13 and McLeod seven. Henry Teer, Brennan Penny and Buddy Debeaux all pitched for McLeod in game two.

McLeod got the bats going in the nightcap. Henry Teer was 2-for-4 with a double, run scored and an RBI. Mason Teer was 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored. Buddy Debeaux was 1-for-2 with a run and Brennan Penny was 1-for-4 with a run scored.
