Atlanta beats New Boston 12-5 for postseason berth

ATLANTA, Texas — The Atlanta Rabbits managed to beat the New Boston Lions 12-5 Tuesday night to qualify for the postseason.

The winning pitcher was Will Woodruff, who went 4.1 innings, giving up three hits, two runs, two walks, and struck out one.

Nick Burden was on the mound for 1.2 innings, giving up a walk and striking out two. Cooper McClure went 1.0 inning, giving up two hits and two runs.

“We are really proud of the kids the way they continued to fight down the stretch and found to get into the postseason,” coach Dave Hooten said.

Will Henson was saddled with the loss for the Lions, as he pitched for over 3.0 innings, giving up six hits, eight runs, three walks, and struck out two.

Connor Bobbitt went 3.0 innings, giving up six hits, four runs, a walk, and striking out three.

McClure went 1-3 for the Rabbs, scoring two runs and driving in two others.

Woodruff went 2-3 at the plate, scoring two runs, and batting in three runs.

Adrian Kennington went 2-3 with two runs and an RBI.

Brennan Gaston went 1-2 with two runs.

For the Lions, Corbin Matthews was 1-3 with a run scored. Henson was 1-2 with a run scored. Bobbitt was 1-4 with a run scored.
